Institute of Economic Growth (IEG) is an autonomous research and training institution. It was established in 1952. IEG invites applications for contractual positions in its Population Research Centre (PRC). The institute is located at Delhi Enclave, North Campus, Delhi. IEG is seeking candidates for the roles of Field Investigator, Research Investigator, and Data Assistant. The selection will be through a Walk-in-Interview on April 15, 2025. Eligibility Criteria
- Age Limit:
- Maximum 35 years as on April 15, 2025.
- Age relaxation applicable as per Government of India rules for reserved categories.
- Educational Qualification & Experience:
- Field Investigator / Research Investigator:
- Minimum: Second-class Postgraduate Degree in Demography, Population Studies, Statistics, or Economics. A degree in Mathematics, Operational Research, or Psychology is also acceptable. Sociology, Anthropology, or Public Health degrees qualify as well. Alternatively, a degree in Geography, Social Work, or Development Studies from a recognized institute/university is required.
- Desired Skills: Knowledge of quantitative techniques and software like STATA, SPSS, R, or EVIEWS; familiarity with large-scale datasets (e.g., NFHS, LASI, Census, NSSO).
- Preferred Experience: Data collection and analysis. Experience in field surveys is important. Familiarity with Reproductive and Child Health is preferred. Knowledge of National Health Mission (NHM) programs is required. Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) skills are essential. Report writing with mixed qualitative and quantitative data is necessary.
- Roles: Routine M&E activities, fieldwork, report writing, and primary/secondary data research.
- Data Assistant:
- Minimum: Second-class Graduate Degree in Statistics, Economics, or Mathematics from a recognized institute or university. Other relevant disciplines with strong data handling skills are also eligible.
- Desired Skills: Knowledge of MS Office Suite, statistical software (STATA, SPSS, R, EVIEWS, SQL, Python), and large-scale datasets (e.g., NFHS, LASI, Census, NSSO); report design using Canva, online database management, IT-related work.
- Preferred Experience: Data collection/analysis, field surveys, and primary data handling.
- Roles: Fieldwork, report writing, and primary/secondary data research.

Compensation
- Pay Levels:
- Field Investigator & Research Investigator: Pay Matrix Level-7 (7th CPC).
- Data Assistant: Pay Matrix Level-5 (7th CPC).
- Allowances: Usual allowances as admissible at IEG.
- Contract Terms: One-year contract, terminable by either party with one-month notice; extendable based on performance.
